An Alexander McQueen skull pillow was the catalyst for this bold en suite bath in Chicago's trendy Wicker Park area. "I wanted drama!" Says designer SuzAnn Kletzien, who notes that putting a modern, jewelry-inspired chandelier on a claw-foot bath "definitely satisfied that desire."
OLD WORLD INSPIRATION
Get fashion for ages by incorporating antiques, such as delicate Bagues-style sconces, a Baroque mirror plus a French-limestone dressing table. Without leaving the house the finds create a feeling of fantasy.
PALM LEAVES
This spa-inspired bath by Colleen Bashaw has a Claire bathtub from Signature Hardware, Kohler's Pinstripe fixtures and Cole & Son's Palm Leaves wallpaper.
GLAMOROUS COPPER
Initially the owners were planning to add a master suite, but they then looked up and realized that the third-floor loft, with its peaked roof and exposed beams, introduced an unusual opportunity. "The first thing we shopped for was that bathtub," states Chicago-based designer Julia Buckingham. "It's the crown jewel."

Wallpaper by Fornasetti for Cole & Son adds a playful note to a Bahamian bathroom.
